She goes in depth about her most recent remote PBL unit where her students wrote and recorded their own podcast about outer space, highlighting the steps of planning high quality projects for young children.

Our project Creating our Classroom Community was listed among the top 20 projects of the year by PBLWorks. In this project, students create their own website, ebook or print book all in order to learn about one another and build community. You can find full project plans for this project here.

Sara, Amanda and Erin talk with Aaron Mauer on his podcast that is dedicated to pushing the boundaries in education and technology. In this discussion, they share some of the misconceptions surrounding early childhood PBL and how teachers can overcome them.

For those that work in early childhood education, they often deal with misperceptions – often suggesting that younger learners have barriers to deeper learning or high-skilled activities. Not only are these inaccurate, according to teacher and early childhood education advocate Sara Lev, but the situation is also quite the opposite.

Sara joins Assistant Head of School Andrew Bishop and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Brandon Wiley in a conversation about project-based learning in early childhood education. In this episode, they discuss the common misconceptions and the benefits of PBL for children ages 3-8.
