Project Based Learning can be done with young children.

In fact, Project Based Learning (PBL) is the most inspiring, engaging, and effective instructional approach teachers can use when teaching our youngest learners. In PBL, young children take an active role in their learning, developing key knowledge and skills that lead them to become more independent and collaborative. PBL empowers students to learn and discover fundamental lessons about themselves and the world around them.

Project Based Learning can also inspire YOU, the educator, by drawing upon your natural abilities to design engaging and relevant units of study, tying learning to student interests and questions, and creating joyful learning communities. Teaching through PBL can be invigorating and freeing.

Early Childhood PBL is Here For You!

  • Are you an early childhood teacher, instructional coach, or school leader who has been curious about PBL, but aren’t sure it will work with young students because of their age and skills?

  • Do you already utilize learner-centered practices in your classroom and want to go deeper into PBL?

  • Are you looking for a bit more structure and/or clear planning documents for your original curricular units?

  • Are you seeking tools, strategies and resources to help you successfully implement PBL with young children?

  • Are you an educator looking to transform your practice, ignite your students’ curiosity and inspire deeper, more independent learning?

As educators, we have worked in early childhood classrooms, taught primary grades, and coached preschool teachers, early elementary teachers, and school leaders. We are passionate about PBL and know the power it brings to classrooms around the world. Our work is tailored to meet the needs of educators who work with children ages three to eight in a wide range of school contexts and communities.

We are excited to connect with you, no matter where you are on your PBL journey.
